Transgender and Intersex Health

I've been living as a male for a year now and after saving my nickels, I'm beginning me hormone treatments on Monday afternoon. Has anyone else gone through this and willing to impart some advice onto me? My next step will be the masectomy once I have my second psych consultation letter to get the thumb's up. I have a friend who is finishing their first year and spoke of growing pain and height growth. I'm 5'3" and ideally would like to be able to grow the additional 4" that he did. Does anyone have any experience?
