HRT in transgender menI am a nurse practitioner at a detention center. I have a male inmate who was started on HRT prior to incarceration, stopped when he was at another county's facility and is wanting to resart again. I am willing to order this for him, but he will not be staying at my facility long term. My question is are there long term effects from starting and stopping therapy and what dosing schedule is recommended. Thank you.

As for dosages, we will send you a copy of our recommendations.
I am a nurse practitioner at a detention center. I have a male inmate who was started on HRT prior to incarceration, stopped when he was at another county's facility and is wanting to resart again...
Re: Re: HRT in transgender menThe scheduling dose depends on the individual. The max use of injectable testosterone is 200mg Q2weeks IM. Many of my clients use this dose although a good number are on smaller dosages according to how they are tolerating it. For clients who are just starting testosterone for the first time; I usually give 50mg IM and then taper up according to the effects and how they feel.
